Broadband connections top 1.2 million

Broadband connections in Israel grew 25% to 1.22 million in 2005, according to the country’s Chamber of Commerce, citing figures provided by fixed line incumbent Bezeq and the country’s cable operators. DSL subscribers rose 23% to 800,000, whilst cable modem connections grew 29.2% to 420,000. Broadband internet penetration now stands at 65% of households, amongst the highest in the world.
