Russian ISP Prestige-Internet, which operates under the Enforta brand, plans to invest over USD50 million in deploying a WiMAX network covering 28 cities across Russia, according to its marketing director Oleg Tainov. The construction of the network is expected to be completed within two years. Prestige-Internet, 100% owned by the Netherlands’ Enforta, currently operates WiMAX networks in Novosibirsk and Ryazan, and plans to launch in twelve additional cities by July 2006, Tainov said, adding that neither Moscow or St. Petersburg were among the dozen cities.
