Subs down at Taiwan Mobile

26 Jan 2006

Taiwan Mobile has seen a 30% rise in fourth-quarter net profit to TWD3.54 billion, although it expects profit to fall back in the current quarter due to a debt write-off. Revenue for the final three months of 2005 stood at TWD14.79 billion, up 2% year-on-year. The firm, which claims around 28% of Taiwan’s saturated mobile market, says subscriber numbers fell by 1% in the fourth quarter to 6.1 million due to the disconnection of inactive pre-paid accounts.
