NTT DoCoMo has inked a deal with Taiwanese handset maker High Tech Computer Corp (HTC) allowing it sell 3G FOMA handsets with Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Japanese edition operating systems. Commercial launch of the new system is expected sometime in the second half of 2006. Under the deal, HTC will supply a dual-mode W-CDMA and GSM/GPRS handset capable of providing mobile solutions for corporate users offering inbuilt synchronisation with Windows Server and Exchange Server to deliver messaging and other business support. The new terminals will offer voice, video and packet communications compatible with W-LAN, said HTC in a statement.
