MobileOne sees subscriber numbers dip in 2005

Singapore’s MobileOne (M1) ended 2005 with 1.246 million customers, including 436,200 pre-paid customers and 809,500 with contract accounts. Whilst the company reported a slight rise in post-paid users from 807,000 to 809,500, it said there was a dip in its pre-pay users from 451,000 to 436,200. Nonetheless, M1’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the full year increased by 13.5% year-on-year, to USD204 million, and its EBITDA margin on service revenue rose by 4.2% to 47.2%. Profit after tax rose by 4.6% to USD99 million and service revenues increased by 3.5% to USD433 million. Non-voice services continued to see healthy growth and contributed almost 20% of average revenue per user.
