TDC to launch multimedia network

19 Jan 2006

TDC has launched an expansion programme to transform its basic voice telephony network into a multimedia network in the next few years. The telco said it will provide triple-play voice, broadband and high definition television (HDTV) services over the same network, combining existing technologies such as copper, coax, mobile and fibre optic. TDC said it aims to create the most modern access network in Europe, and become the leading provider in the Nordic market. The planned network will be available to more than four out of every five households in the country and will offer broadband at speeds of up to 50Mbps.
