012 Golden Lines deploys first commercial VoIP network

18 Jan 2006

Israeli telco 012 Golden Lines has selected Juniper Networks to deploy the country’s first commercial VoIP network. 012 Golden Lines is the first service provider in Israel to be granted a government licence to provide VoIP, following successful trials under an interim ‘experimental’ licence allowing it to provide services to 7,500 customers. The commercial network is being installed by Juniper’s local partners TNN and Ness Technologies, with services being introduced on a limited basis. The network will gradually extend the service to its entire customer base, enabling VoIP calls across the business and residential sectors. 012 Golden Lines provides private customers with a range of internet services, including cable, wireless and ADSL broadband access. As part of its VoIP services, the telco also provides IP-Centrex to business customers.
