LG ends year with 6.5 million users, targets eight million by 2008

South Korea’s smallest cellco LG Telecom said its subscriber base reached 6.5 million at the end of 2005, up from 6.1 million at the start of the year. LG has yet to reveal its full fourth quarter 2005 results, but analysts’ estimate that blended ARPU for the period stood at around KRW39,600 (USD40.1), up from KRW38,910 the previous quarter. The operator expects to have signed up 7.2 million users by the end of this year and eight million by the end of 2007.
