Infocomm to double coverage, expand rural ops

Indian telco Reliance Infocomm has revealed plans for an aggressive expansion of its fixed and mobile networks, saying it intends to more than double the number of towns and cities it currently covers. Infocomm says it expand its network to cover 9,000 towns and cities, up from 4,500 currently, with a strong focus on so-called ‘B and C class cities’, as well as rural areas. The telco says half of the expansion work will be complete by June.
