Malaysian cellco Maxis Communications is trialling a wireless transmission platform to backhaul traffic from its 2G and 3G base stations to its core network. Maxis is working with Cambridge Broadband on the large-scale trial, using the latter’s VectaStar equipment. If the tests are successful Maxis hopes to deploy the system nationwide.
