Belgacom takes 90.9% of Telindus

12 Jan 2006

Belgian telco Belgacom says it has acquired 90.9% of shares in network service provider Telindus following last week’s public share offer. Belgacom wanted to buy a minimum 75% stake in Telindus at EUR16.6 per share, valuing the company at EUR594 million and trumping an earlier bid from France Télécom (FT). The deal will preserve the Telindus brand for at least five years, with no major restructuring permitted for at least twelve months.
