Two new cellcos set to launch

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has revealed that two new mobile operators – Azerphone and Catel – are set to launch services in the country, having been awarded concessions last week. US-Azeri joint venture Catel plans to launch later this month, as it already has a mobile network in the country, while Siemens subsidiary Azerphone plans to invest USD300 million in the build out of its network over the next two years.
