S-Fone launches S-Credit

11 Jan 2006

Mobile operator S-Fone has launched a new service for its pre-paid users which allows them to continue to use their handsets up to the value of VND10,000 (USD0.63) despite the account having a zero balance. Customers then have the value of the credit deducted from their next recharge card. S-Fone says that the service means that its subscribers no longer have to worry about being cut off as soon as their credit runs out.

Meanwhile the country’s Ministry of Posts and Telematics (MPT) has revealed plans to better monitor pre-paid users in the country, following an increase in spam messaging crime using mobile phones. Pre-paid users are currently unmonitored with providers not required to record users’ personal information or addresses.
