Russian telecoms revenues rise

Telecom revenues were up 15% to RUB428.4 billion in the first nine months of 2005 according to figures from Russia’s Federal State Statistics Agency. Mobile services accounted for 48% of all telecoms sales, while local telephony brought in 17.8% and long-distance services contributed 13.7%. There were 40.633 million fixed line users in Russia at the end of October 2005, up from 39.616 million a year earlier.
