MPT reports year end stats

The Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) had 135,664 wireless customers and 325,280 fixed lines in service at the end of 2005, according to a report in the official newspaper, Light of Myanmar. With a population of over fifty million, wireline teledensity remains extremely low at just 0.67%. The MPT is the only operator authorised to offer telecoms services in the country.
