Wireless penetration hits 81%

The Malta Communications Authority (MCA) has reported that at the end of September 2005 there were 324,763 wireless subscribers in the country, an increase of 8.9% in twelve months, reflecting a penetration rate of 81%. Mobile traffic rose by around 11% in the year to the end of September, with SMS traffic increasing by 9.4%. ARPU dipped by 17% over the same period to just under MTL10.
