Mobile usage up 68%

According to Argentina’s census agency, Indec, mobile phone subscriptions in the country increased by 68% in 2005, with 21.02 million users recorded at the end of the year, up from 13.32 million at the end of 2004. Traffic from mobile phones rose by 41.9% during the year. The number of fixed lines, meanwhile, rose by just 1.6% to 8.88 million, although local calls volume fell by 0.4%.
