Indosat beats its mobile subscriber target for 2004

3 Jan 2006

Indonesia’s second largest mobile operator PT Indonesian Satellite (Indosat) reported 14.4 million subscribers at the end of 2005, beating its own forecast for the year of 14 million. The company, which started 2005 with around nine million users, attributed the growth to its concerted efforts to expand its network and improve service quality, and says it has set aside a further USD670 million for investment in 2006, mainly to further improve network coverage. Indosat president director Hasnul Husaimi says his company also plans to introduce value added services and launch a range of ‘more affordable’ products and services.
