GlobeTel to install WiMAX in 30 cities

GlobeTel Wireless has entered into an agreement with Moscow-based LLC Internafta to install a WiMAX network in Russia’s 30 largest cities, starting with Moscow and St. Petersburg. The planned network will provide a range of services including broadband internet access, VoIP and DECT telephony. GlobeTel will manage the completed network and plans to retain a 50% share in the operation. It is aiming to roll out the USD600 million network in three stages, covering ten cities in each stage, over the next 27 months.
