MoC to investigate Partner’s new shareholder

According to Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz, the Israeli Ministry of Communications (MoC) is planning to ‘investigate’ the implications of Egyptian telco Orascom buying a 20% stake in Hutchison Telecommunications International Limited (HTIL). HTIL is the 52% owner of Partner Communications. According to the report, Partner’s operating licence contains a number of restrictions on its ownership, which need to be scrutinised.
