FT to lower charges

22 Dec 2005

France Télécom (FT) is to lower its fixed-to-mobile tariffs from 2 January 2006 following a ruling by the country’s telecoms regulator ARCEP. The watchdog said last week that it would force France’s three mobile network operators to reduce wholesale charges by 24% from the start of next month. FT, owner of France’s largest mobile operator Orange, says prices for calls between fixed lines and cellphones will be cut by up to 28%.
