Date set for wireless number portability

Canadian telecoms regulator, the CRTC, has announced that mobile number portability (MNP) will be officially introduced from 14 March 2007. Under the rules, MNP will initially apply only to Bell Mobility, Rogers Wireless and Telus Mobility customers in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec, but will be extended to all wireless carriers by 12 September 2007.
