China’s two mobile operators are expected to have almost 400 million subscribers between them by the end of the year. At the end of November market leader China Mobile claimed 242.7 million users, while China Unicom had 126.54, giving a total of just under 370 million. The country’s telecoms regulator, the Ministry of Information Industry, expects the total to reach 393 by the end of this month, with growth slowing next year to reach 440 million users.
