Telefonica prioritises ‘Speedy’ ADSL

19 Dec 2005

Telefonica do Brasil president Fernando Ferreira has been quoted by Gazeta Mercantil as saying that the priority for his company in the coming year will be the continued rollout of ADSL services and the launch of VoIP and IPTV. As it stands, Telefonica’s ADSL service – offered under the banner Speedy – is responsible for 1.2 million of the country’s three million ADSL connections; it aims to add a further 350,000 customers to its base in 2006. TV over ADSL is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter.
