Get ready for yet another Vimpelcom boardroom fracas…

14 Dec 2005

Three members of the board of Russian mobile group Vimpelcom are planning to vote against the company’s proposed 2006 investment programme in recently acquired cellco Ukrainian Radiosystems (URS), according to Vedomosti business daily, citing a letter sent to Vimpelcom’s Chairman David Haines. Unsurprisingly the three members were all nominated to the Vimpelcom board by Telenor of Norway, which has long fought against the purchase of URS, instigated by fellow shareholder Alfa Group.
