Mokilkom takes Si.Mobil stake to 92%

Austrian mobile operator Mobilkom has acquired an additional 17.2% of Slovenia’s second biggest cellco Si.Mobil, to take its stake to 92.19%. Mobilkom first became a shareholder in Si.Mobil in 2001, and by the end of that year it owned 75% plus one share; the following year it signed a deal to buy out the rest of the shares by July 2007. The company, which bought 8.25% of the recently acquired 17.2% stake from holding company Istrabenz, 5.48% from logistics company Intereuropa, 2.34% from band Probanka and 1.12% from telco UPC Telemach, said it would purchase the remaining shares – owned by electronics company Iskra (5.46%) and investment company Medaljon (2.35%) – by May 2006 to give it a100% stake.
