12 Dec 2005

Deutsche Telekom (DT) is preparing to face nationwide protests by an expected 25,000 of its workers over plans to cut 32,000 of its 170,000 German staff by the end of 2008, according to trade union ver.di. DT’s management is meeting today to approve the restructuring plan. Trade unions including ver.di have called for the telco to reconsider the proposals, given its current sound financial position.
