Q-Tel offers shoppers a sneaky peek at 3G

Incumbent telco Qatar Telecom (Q-Tel) is offering consumers the chance to try out advanced mobile services ahead of the commercial launch of its 3G network in the middle of next year. Q-Tel’s wireless subsidiary Qatarnet is running a free trial of the service in the Landmark shopping mall in Doha, allowing shoppers to witness video-based telephony and value added services via a number of WCDMA-enabled mobile handsets.
