Orascom looks to Greece

7 Dec 2005

Naguib Sawris, the CEO of Egypt’s Orascom Telecom, is considering a bid for Greek cellco TIM Hellas, according to Reuters. ‘We are interested in a bid, but we have still to make up our minds on it. We have certainly not decided on a figure,’ Sawris was quoted as saying. Any bid for TIM Hellas would come via Weather Investments, the consortium set up by Orascom to purchase Italian operator Wind.
