Colombian regional telco Empresas Municipales de Cali (EmCali) says it will launch triple-play voice, video and data services in the Cali area by June 2006, reports BNamericas. The municipal operator has earmarked USD10.5 million to implement a new integrated services platform, in partnership with Chinese equipment provider ZTE. Earlier this week EmCali signed for the purchase of 140,000 IP/MPLS lines and a multi-service platform, set to be installed in the first quarter of next year. By 1 June it expects to have the first phase of the new network operational, providing services to large enterprises and high-end residential customers. By December 2006 the telco hopes to expand its triple-play offering to SMEs and the general public.
