7 Dec 2005

Malaysian cellco Celcom has inked an MYR60 million (USD15.9 million) deal with IT services provider LogicaCMG Global Telecoms Asia to upgrade its mobile network applications platforms. The one-year contract will see LogicaCMG supplying a next-generation short messaging service centre (SMSC), intelligent network platform, and business tools solutions. It will also include a pre-paid system upgrade for Celcom’s 3G network. The next-generation SMSC will enable Celcom to double its SMS capacity to 1,000 messages per second.
