Celcom predicts 150,000 3G users

Telekom Malaysia’s wireless unit Celcom is targetting a total of 150,000 3G customers by the end of 2006, an increase of 130,000 on its current total. The company is preparing to launch a raft of multimedia content to boost data traffic on its W-CDMA network, including TV clips and Chinese language services. Celcom hopes to have a million Chinese-speaking subscribers to its 2G and 3G services by 2007.
