Vodafone KK’s 3G subscribers reach two million

23 Nov 2005

Japan’s third largest cellco Vodafone KK has signed up two million subscribers to its 3G service, around three years after it was launched. The cellco hit the one million benchmark in April this year, and says the pace of signups has picked up significantly since then thanks to discounted tariffs and increased marketing. Rival operators NTT DoCoM and au Corporation claimed 17.6 million and 19.8 million 3G customers respectively at the end of October.
