Non-cable subscribers to get broadband

22 Nov 2005

Cable TV and broadband provider Net Servicos de Comunicacao (Net) has revealed plans to sell broadband access to customers who are not subscribed to its cable TV service, according to a report in local newspaper Valor Economico. The move comes after the operator received a multimedia communications service licence (SCM) from the regulator Anatel, which enables it to unbundle the two services. In a bid to compete better with rival operator TVA, Net recently boosted the speed of its broadband service without increasing its price.
