DMB phones to increase in South Korea

According to South Korea’s Information and Communications Minister Chin Dae-je, Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) phones will account for around 70% of the handset market by 2008 and serve as a significant growth engine for the country’s economy. DMB handsets, which enable users to view TV programs while on the move, were launched commercially in South Korea in May this year. Around 100,000 customers have signed up to the service today.
