Vodafone to launch 3G in a year

Vodafone Malta has said it will launch commercial 3G services by Autumn 2006, making the announcement less than a year after winning its licence. The cellco’s share price plummeted by almost 11% following the release of its 3Q financials last week, but CEO Hatem Dowidar remains upbeat about the company’s future, and hopes that the launch of 3G will boost its position in the market.
