Government opens 3G tender

Lithuania’s Communication Regulatory Authority has launched a tender for three 3G licences. Bids for the 20-year licences, which carry a minimum price of LTL3.5 million (EUR1.1 million), will be accepted until 12 January 2006 with the winner expected to be announced on 13 February. The country’s trio of wireless operators – Omnitel, Tele2 and Bite Lietuva – are all expected to enter the auction.
