Malaysian cellco Celcom will offer nationwide 3G coverage by March 2006, according to its chief executive officer, Datuk Shazalli Ramly. Currently, Celcom’s W-CDMA services are only available in the Klang Valley, Penang, Johor Baru, Malacca, Genting Highlands, Kulim Hi-Tech Park and Sungai Petani. To date, Celcom has between 15,000 and 20,000 3G subscribers; as part of its efforts to boost customer take-up the company plans to introduce more downloadable 3G content, including television show clips.
