Virgin Mobile reports strong 1H figures

Virgin Mobile UK is to increase its investment in customer acquisition as it seeks to continue the impressive revenue growth of its fiscal first half of the year. Total turnover rose 7% year-on-year to GBP274.6 million in the six months to 30 September 2005, pushing operating profit up by 27% to GBP45.5 million. The cellco added 121,500 net new customers in the period to take its total number of ‘90-day active customers’ to 4.153 million, whilst rolling twelve-month ARPU fell GBP16 to GBP121.
