Telekom Austria has beaten analyst forecasts with a 22% increase in third-quarter adjusted EBITDA to EUR543 million. Revenues for the three months to the end of September were up 13.9% year-on-year to EUR1.19 billion, thanks partly to the incorporation of the Bulgarian cellular operator Mobiltel. Net income jumped almost 90% to EUR184.1 million. The telco says it expects revenue growth of more than 5% for the full year. Telekom Austria now has 8.46 million wireless customers thanks to its acquisition of Mobiltel, which brought 3.33 million customers. Its domestic cellular subsidiary mobilkom had 3.31 million subscribers at the end of September. Although the number of PSTN lines in service in Austria has fallen from 2.48 million to 2.39 million over the past year, ADSL subscriptions have grown from 338,000 to almost 526,000.
