Elisa to launch 3G video calls

The Finnish telco Elisa is preparing to launch video calling services on its 3G UMTS network later this month. The firm, which controls Finland’s second largest cellular operator as well as the mobile reseller Kolumbus, says the service will be available to subscribers of both companies from 18 November. Video calls will be charged at the promotional price of EUR0.01 per minute for the rest of the year. Video services are currently only available to customers of the MVNO Saunalahti which is currently the subject of a takeover by Elisa.
