Uzbektelecom signs two contracts

Uzbektelecom has announced the award of two contracts for the installation of 9,000 payphones. Under the terms of the first Uzbektelecom will form a 40/60 joint venture with Malaysian vendor Pernec Corp, under the name MalUztel, which will use CDMA-450 technology to install 4,000 payphones across the country. The second agreement, this time with Unified Communications, will install 5,000 phones under the brand UzMaPhone.
