Deutsche Telekom (DT) announced yesterday that it plans to axe 32,000 jobs, or 8% of its total workforce, in the next three years, 25,000 from its core domestic operations and a further 7,000 from a personnel agency subsidiary. The bulk of the restructuring will take place at fixed line division T-Com, which currently employs nearly 110,000 workers. The company added that it expected to add 6,000 jobs in new business areas over the three-year period.
