2 Nov 2005

Denmark’s TDC Group today reported third quarter net income of DKK1.279 billion (EUR171.44 million), up 20.7% year-on-year, on revenues that rose 10.9% to DKK12.22 billion (EUR1.638 billion). EBITDA for the period was up 6% to DKK3.497 billion (EUR468.75 million). International businesses contributed 48% of the group’s turnover for the first three quarters of 2005, up 2% on the same period last year; growth in TDC’s international mobile operations was largely responsible for its total customer base growing by 12.8% y-o-y to 14.7 million at the end of September. In its domestic market, the company’s fixed line and mobile subscriber base grew by 2.6% to 7.5 million, including 2.5 million TDC Mobil users (up 6.1%). Domestic xDSL customers increased by 27.2% to 650,000; TDC’s total broadband customers, including cable modem users, reached 818,000, up 31.1% .

The Danish telco has recently been targeted for purchase by several international equity funds, but the company has remained silent on the matter despite mounting market speculation that a takeover bid is imminent.
