Telkom profit drops

Indonesian telco PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia has reported a 11.4% drop in net profit for the third quarter to INR2.08 trillion (USD2.05 billion), which it has attributed to a weakened currency. Revenues for the quarter rose 20.1%, while operating profit was up by 20.7%. The telco said that around 33% of its revenues were generated from its 65%-owned mobile subsidiary Telkomsel, which claimed a cellular market share of 56% and a customer base of 23.48 million at the end of September.
