Chilean telco Entel posted third quarter revenues of CLP185 billion (USD340.7 million), up 8% compared to CLP172 billion pesos in 3Q 2004. The growth was on the back of a 27% rise in its mobile subscriber base, which stood at 3.87 million at the end of September. Total mobile minutes of use were up 1% year-on-year, whilst monthly ARPU fell 4%, largely attributable to recent tariff drops. The company’s mobile churn level for the three months was 1.6%. Meanwhile, internet revenues at Entel’s fixed line division fell 16% in the quarter due to a 64% decrease in dial-up internet turnover as clients migrate to broadband services.
