Net Servicos to offer faster broadband

21 Oct 2005

Brazilian pay-TV and broadband services provider Net Servicos de Comunicacao has revealed plans to spend BRL10 million (USD4.5 million) on increasing the speeds of its broadband service. Some of the money will also go towards the rebranding of the company. Net Servicos plans to add options of up to 2Mbps to its Virtua service, which currently offers services at speeds less than a sixth of that. Net Servicos’ main competitor in the broadband arena is Telefonica subsidiary Speedy, which has also recently increased the speed of its service from 350Kbps to 500Kbps.
