20 Oct 2005

China’s largest fixed line operator China Telecom has reported revenues of CNY121.68 billion (USD15.04 billion) for the first nine months of 2005, up 6.4% year-on-year, with growth fuelled by a strong performance at its internet division. Broadband customer numbers rose from 17.37 million at the end of June to 19.17 million three months later. Telecom served 206.86 million wireline customers at the end of September, an increase of more than four million in the third quarter alone.
