Two French cellular operators are joining forces to test technology which allows TV broadcasts to be shown on mobile handsets. Orange and Bouygues Telecom say they will be trialling Digital Video Broadcast Handheld (DVB-H) technology over the next six to nine months, with a total of 400 users taking part. The phones used in the tests have been produced by French equipment firm Sagem and provide access to nine TV channels. A commercial launch of the technology is not expected before 2008.
