The Rwandan government last Friday formally authorised the transfer of a 99% stake in national fixed line operator Rwandatel to TERRACOM, a US-based IT and communications provider that bought the former state-owned telco for USD20 million in a privatisation deal in June this year. TERRACOM has also been licensed to provide cellular services and is currently working on software platforms for its planned mobile network.
